Empowering sustainable recovery of Ukraine through education, leadership and grant programmes

WOMEN LEAD

Women Lead was born from a powerful collaboration between the Nobel Women's Initiative and United for Ukraine, united by a shared vision: to harness the strength and resilience of Ukrainian women as catalysts for economic renewal and sustainable recovery.

Recognizing that Ukraine's future depends on empowering those who have shown extraordinary courage in the face of adversity, we created Women Lead to provide comprehensive support for women entrepreneurs and leaders who are rebuilding their communities from the ground up.

Our journey began with a successful pilot program that awarded EUR 5,000-30,000 grants to 12 participants selected from 110 applicants across health and wellbeing, education and childcare, and sustainable entrepreneurship sectors. This initial success revealed a critical insight: financial support alone is insufficient for long-term success.

Women Lead aims to catalyze grassroots economic renewal, stimulate long-term growth, and showcase the indomitable spirit of Ukrainian women facing adversity – creating sustainable ventures that contribute to Ukraine's immediate resilience and future recovery.

EIT Climate KIC and United For Ukraine have teamed up to support Ukraine’s transition towards a sustainable, climate-neutral future.

Over the course of three months, participants took part in four engaging workshops, exploring innovative solutions to drive sustainability and systemic change in Ukraine.

The program covered crucial topics such as renewable energy implementation, stakeholder mapping, and strategies for achieving climate neutrality by 2030. A special thank you to Diia Business Rivne for hosting the offline sessions, which helped tailor the learning experience to the local context of Rivne.
